MENZIES IN ONE ROOM

Overview

My job is to fight for you, and that starts with listening.

We need a world-class energy system that is cleaner, cheaper and consistent.

That is why I want to hear your thoughts on Australia’s energy transition.  In March, I’ll work with independent engagement firm democracyCo, who will host a My Community in One Room forum, seeking your advice on two questions:

How will moving away from fossil fuels impact on our cost of living, and lives?

What should be done about it?

Participants will be supported to explore this question through advice from a diverse range of experts and a carefully facilitated process that enables participants to learn about the issue as well as understand each other’s views.

Everyone in the electorate can get involved and have their voice heard.

Whatever your stage in life, education level, or experience, your voice counts. The only criteria is that you are over 18 and come with an open mind. We want to hear from a real cross-section of people from across Menzies

I’m here to make a difference, not a career, so please reach out.

About the Process

How can you get involved

If you are a constituent of the Seat of Menzies - there are two potential ways you can get involved-

  1. Be part of the Menzies in One Room Forum. Were you one of the lucky 18,000 people who has selected by lottery to be invited to be part of the In One Room Forum? Did you receive a letter of invitation in the mail? If so follow the online link provided on the invitation to register your interest. Whatever your age, your education level, or your experience - your voice counts. We want involvement from a real cross-section of people from across Menzies, so if your household has received this letter then you are the right person to take part! The In One Room Forum is fun, interactive, collaborative and provide participants with an amazing opportunity to affect change. The Forum offers an excellent opportunity to positively connect and make a difference.

  2. Tell us your views online – Anyone can share their views about how we should go about reducing the impact of energy on our cost of living and lives. Find out more here

My commitment to listening

Following receipt of the final report from the Community In One Room Forum I will -

  • make representations to the Federal Parliament about the Forum’s work;

  • advocate for the recommendations through the Federal Liberal Party

  • write to the relevant Minister/s to advise them of the views of my electorate and

  • where appropriate work with our community to address this issue.

I will also report back to the community 6 months after the election about the action I have taken on this issue.

In the meantime, I will publish the Forum’s advice on my website in full and unchanged and will write to all known candidates for the seat of Menzies to provide them with the Forum’s final report.
